Dave Baum, currently heard on WSCR, (CBS-Infinity), Sportsradio-670 Chicago, has spent more than three decades reporting and interpreting issues-based news events to his radio, TV and print audiences in the Windy City. As principal of the Dave Baum Media Training Group, he is presently a media advisor to global corporations and high-level business executives in the specialties of Media Spokesperson Training, Crisis Communications, Issues-Strategy Management, Speech Presentation Skills and 1:1 Executive Communications Coaching. He is also an Adjunct Professor of Corporate Education at the Lake Forest, Illinois, Graduate School of Management which is also a media training client.

In 1973, Baum put his broadcast and reporting background to work as a media consultant when he became a faculty member of the J. Walter Thompson media training program in Chicago during the U.S. oil embargo. The unit was thought to be the first of its kind in presenting media spokesperson and crisis communications training programs for corporate executives.

A University of Illinois journalism graduate, Baum has extensive experience as a political reporter and talk show host on radio and TV. His "beats" have included the Chicago City Council, the Illinois General Assembly as well as presidential campaigns from Johnson-Goldwater in 1964 to Bush-Clinton in 1992.

His top-rated talk shows have been heard on Chicago's WBBM and WIND, KMOX, St. Louis (all CBS stations) and seen on WMAQ-TV (NBC) and WFLD-TV (Fox), Chicago. Baum has also reported and written for United Press international and the City News Bureau of Chicago as well as providing play-by-play sports coverage of Big Ten football and basketball and color commentary for the Chicago Bulls of the NBA.

His incisive reporting has led to numerous awards including the Chicago Headline Club's prestigious Peter Lisagor Award for exceptional local political and community coverage.
